Abstract

Fibrinogen turnover (using 131I fibrinogen), coagulation and fibrinolysis were investigated in 30 controls and in 32 subjects of both sexes (14 males and 18 females) between 23 and 65 years of age, affected by epithelial neoplasms with different localization. The various tests used (thromboelastograph, coagulation time according to Lee White carried out in glass tubes and in siliconized tubes, Quick's time, assay of factor II, V, VII+X, VIII, IX and fibrinogen and thrombin time) showed slight changes of coagulation with the exception of a statistically significant increase of factor VIII (P
