Abstract
Microtias and traumatics or surgical loss of the external ear are important aesthetic defects. Reconstructive techniques can be divided into two groups according to the choice of the material for the new ear (autogenous tissue vs. alloplastic material). Besides, about the skin surfacing, we use new solutions that are able to solve problems in skin deficiency (temporalis fascia, skin expansion). Authors refer their experience about autogenous cartilage used in fabricating auricolar frameworks buried in a pocket on the side of the head, according to Brent. We are used to utilize skin expansion or temporalis fascia flap only in severe cases of skin loss.
