The clinico-biological behaviour of micronodular basal-cell carcinomas: A report of 76 patients

Abstract

Micronodular basal-cell carcinomas are a histologic subtype characterized by small roundish nodules of neoplasm representing a miniaturization of the nodular type. The purpose of this report is to study our survey of these tumours in order to define some features, such as their frequency, age and site of presentation, clinical aspect and the potential of recurrence. Our study underlines that these tumours may have a wider and deeper tumour margin extension than nodular basal-cell carcinomas with similar clinical size, thus conditioning a higher potential of recurrence than the latter.
