Abstract

From 1984 to 1995, 552 Hickman catheters were placed in the Institute of Clinica Chirurgica B of the University of Genova to treat malignant haemathologic diseases. Aims and reasons of this choice, surgical tecnique, advantages and related problems are reported here.
