In this paper we have analyzed the trend of selected obstetric conditions in Lombardy, a region in the North of Italy, in the period 1996-2008. In the considered period we have observed an increase in the number of deliveries, that is due to an increase in the number of deliveries among non-Italian citizens. In the 2008, the 24.5% of deliveries was observed in not Italian citizens. The frequency of spontaneous abortions /100 pregnancies did not change during the considered period but the frequency of multiple births and ectopic pregnancies increased. With regard to mode of delivery the frequency of caesarean sections increased from 1996 to 2006. In the 2008, the 28.2% of pregnant women delivered by caesarean section.
