Abstract
Mono- and B-mode echocardiography is inferior to clinical evaluation and haemodynamic studies for timing of cardiac transplantation in idiopathic and/or ischemic cardiopathy. Some echo- and Doppler-derived variables are of prognostic significance as predictive guides in patients assessed for cardiac transplantation.
