Abstract
With accurate staging of prostatic carcinoma it is possible to choose the most correct therapeutic method, keeping in mind the natural history of the disease. As current scientific knowledge stands, there is no single staging method which fulfils this objective. Personal experience with the combined use of TR ultrasound, histologic grading and PSA is reported. The association of these methods, although tested on a limited number of patients, has led to the achievement of satisfactory staging in terms of intra and extraglandular disease.
