Abstract
We are reporting on the results obtained in the treatment of idiopahic scoliosis using the Colorado instrumentation. The Authors have reviewed both clinical and radiographic evidence of 66 cases, affected by spine deformities and operated on from 1994 to 1995 using the Colorado implant. Deformities have been divided into two groups, scoliosis and kyphosis: in this study we are concentrating only on 33 patients (32 females and 1 male - 27 teenagers and 6 adults) affected with idiopathic scoliosis. The Colorado device has proved to be easy to apply and to give satisfactory results in the treatment of highly demanding deformities, such as adult scoliosis.
