Thirty chronic headache sufferers were subjected to a 'within-patient' clinical trial of the open type consisting of two alternating periods of treatment, using Ketoprofen retard and diazepam respectively. Total pain index, headache free and sleeping hours, and analgetic consumption index were monitored, day by day, and statistically analysed. The results are discussed in the light of population characteristics, the suggested mode of action of both drugs and various forms of primary headache.
