The AA discuss the strategy to be adopted in the treatment of lymph node metastases of laryngeal tumors. While there are no doubts on the indication to surgery for clinically detectable adenopathies, the choice of treatment in the absence of clinical signs of metastatic spread is more debated. The AA discuss preventive surgery of the cervical lymph nodes and its possible alternatives (radiotherapy, polychemotherapy, surveillance and periodical checks of the patient's conditions), and make a therapeutic strategy proposal of their own.
