OBJECTIVES Dental caries is a disease of dental tissue that affects more than 90% of adult subjects. Its management has been the subject of numerous clinical and laboratory investigations, and the approaches suggested in the literature are now clear enough for a correct diagnosis of injuries and the execution of treatments that are always adequate and effective. In 2007, a European group of university dentists working together with general dental practitioners dedicated exclusively to clinical activity set up the Minimum Intervention Advisory Board (MI-AB), a study group with the aim of identifying a shared pathway for pathology management carious.
