Abstract
The polyvinylpyrolidone iodide use as washout in patients with vesical catheters was studied and results are here presented. Two different groups with or without actual urine infections are distinguished. The Betadyne concentrations were 1-5% and 10-20%. Good results and sterile urine were obtained in our patients only with the 10-20% solution, which caused neither hypersensibilization nor pain or burning to the patients.
