Abstract
We have studied 23 patients with a clinical and laboratory positive history for gluten intolerance, giardiasis, chronic diarrhoea and intestinal lymphangiectasia. In all the patients we have performed the ultrastructural aspect of the intestinal epithelium to consider if there are characteristic elements in these diseases in childhood. The data referred to have shown pictures of important but nonspecific mucosal damage in subjects with gluten intolerance, pictures of modest and nonspecific mucosal damage in patients with giardiasis and chronic diarrhoea, pictures of lymphatic ectasia and modest damage of the absorbent epithelium in the subject with lymphangiectasia.
