Abstract

In a patieni with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) severe neurological complications leading to coma were repeatedly reversed by treatment with urokinase. Although the therapeutic modalities for TTP still appear to be a matter of debate, thrombolytic treatment could be considered in TTP patients with severe organ involvement before the corresponding function is completely compromised.
