Abstract
We have evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of Levetiracetam (LEV) used in add-on in a 3-year-old male infant with a history of symptomatic infantile spasms. Seizures were video-EEG recorded before and after the treatment. Following the introduction of LEV, a clinical remission of seizures with resolution of seizure activity on the EEG was observed. LEV was also found to be well-tolerated with few side-effects represented by irritability and insomnia which disappeared after dosage reduction.
