Abstract
Venous lake is a dark red bluish vascular lesion of the elderly skin. It must be differentiated from cherry angioma, ruby spots, spider nbaevus, pyogenic granuloma and teleangectasias of hemorragic hereditary teleangectasia. Histologic study reveals venous lake lined by thin wales mostly consisting of a single layer of endothelium surrounded by marked elastosis. The Authors report and inusual case in 73 y.o. woman presenting a venous lake on her left infraclavicolar region. In this case both minor trauma and the unopposable forces of the aging process are factors causing the venous lake in old skin.
