Abstract
Twenty patients undergoing an intraventricular hemorrhage have been treated by means of ventriculostomy. Using the catheter, thrombolytic agent rt-PA (recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator) has been infused into the ventricle. This treatment has been able to obtain an early lysis of the ventricular clot and to restore the patency of the cerebrospinal fluid pathways. The clinical results are discussed in the light of literature data.
