Vomiting has seldom been described as an ictal symptom in epilepsy. The origin of ictal discharge in vomiting seizures is generally temporal or fronto-temporal. We describe clinical and EEG characteristics of 4 seizures in three different children (aged between 2 and 9 years). In one child the seizure began in fronto-temporal region and in two children in occipital region. We believe that vomiting does not have localizing value. It can be present in fronto-temporal seizures as well as in seizures with occipital onset.
