Abstract

This paper reports an exhaustive and updated compilation of phenotype and allele frequency data for phosphoglucomutase locus 1 (PGM1), obtained with an analytical isoelectric focusing technique, in human populations. The analysis of the PGM1 allele frequency distributions within and among the major human groups together with the degree of diversification evaluated by Wright's Fst, computed per allele and averaged over alleles, are also presented.
